The US and Israel have selected an agency which will manage the countries’ recently established Energy Center.
The US-Israel Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation has been selected to manage the US-Israel Energy Center.
The selection was done by the countries’ departments and ministry of energy and the Israel Innovation Authority.
BIRD will make use of the $16 million in investments secured from the two governments to research the energy-water nexus, fossil energy, energy storage and cybersecurity.
The aim is to promote energy security and economic development through energy innovation.
The Energy Center will facilitate cooperation among consortia of US and Israeli companies, research institutes and universities.
Established by the US and Israel governments in 1977, BIRD has generated and managed cooperation between startups from the two countries over the past 41 years.
