Nio (NYSE: NIO) added 65 battery swap stations in China in October, bringing the number of the facility to 2,621 at the end of October, according to information posted on the Nio App today.
The 65 new battery swap stations are Nio’s latest fourth-generation battery swap stations, 21 of which are located along highways.
As of today, Nio has 2,632 battery swap stations in China, of which 873 are located along highways, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.
About 80.4 percent of Nio owners can find a battery swap station within 3 kilometers of their home or office.
In October, Nio provided 2,447,325 battery swap services, an average of 78,946 per day.
On average, each Nio user used the battery swap service four times in October, each time taking about three minutes, according to the company.
Compared to charging, the battery swap service saved each Nio user 3 hours and 48 minutes per month, Nio said.
By the end of October, Nio had cumulatively provided more than 56.61 million battery swap services to its users.
In October, 27,707 Nio customers used the battery swap service for the first time.
Nio added 350 charging piles in October. The company ended October with 4,077 charging stations in China offering 23,969 charging piles and 1,659 destination charging stations offering 12,882 chargers.
It provided 2,071,072 charging services in October and cumulatively provided more than 50 million charging services by the end of October, with 80 percent of those orders serving non-Nio-branded vehicles, according to the company.
To date, Nio’s charging facilities have cumulatively serviced more than 200 brands of EVs.
Nio provided 11,089 battery upgrades in October, bringing the cumulative number of battery upgrades provided to 316,124.
The company delivered 20,976 vehicles in October, marking the sixth consecutive month above the 20,000 mark. This is up 30.50 percent from 16,074 in the same month last year while down 0.97 percent from 21,181 in September.
The Nio main brand delivered 16,657 vehicles in October, up 3.63 percent from 16,074 a year ago but down 18.14 percent from 20,349 in September.
Sub-brand Onvo delivered 4,319 vehicles in October, up 419.11 percent from 832 in September.
During the week of October 28-November 3, Nio added 83 available battery swap stations for the Onvo brand, including 31 of the newest fourth-generation stations, as well as 52 third-generation battery swap stations that completed retrofits.
To date, there are 644 Nio battery swap stations supporting Onvo in China, of which 173 are fourth-generation stations and 471 are third-generation stations.
Nio’s fourth-generation battery swap stations are able to support battery swap services for Onvo directly, while the third-generation stations need to be retrofitted.
The company aims to have 1,000 battery swap stations available for Onvo by the end of this year.
