The developer has taken to showing off their electrified Ford Transit, made as a part of the eQVM project, on a road trip in the USA. First deliveries are planned after the trip and will commence in New York and Los Angeles.
The zero-emission developer, which normally works with commercial airlines, has decided to air out their newly adapted Ford Transit in a public tour through the USA. The tour starts at the Lightning Systems HQ in Colorado, going in two directions at once: One vehicle will drive west, through to California, while the other will tour all the way to New York City.
The LightningElectric Ford Transit has a vehicle efficiency rating of 61 MPGe in the city and 66 MPGe on highways. The vehicle also features a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery that can charge using DC fast charging as well as Level 2 charging systems, for a full charge in 30 minutes or sic hours, respectively. Another version, with a fuel cell range extender, and over 200 miles range, will be offered as of this summer.
