Jaguar’s battery-powered V20E boat has broken a maritime speed record reaching speeds of 88.62 miles per hour across eight miles of the coniston water lake in cumbria, england. peter dredge, the co-founder of jaguar vector, piloted the boat, succeeding to break the previous record of 76.8 mph set ten years ago.

Jaguar’s battery-powered V20E boat has broken a maritime speed record reaching speeds of 88.

the electric boat was designed and constructed by jaguar vector in partnership with jaguar racing’s technical partner williams advanced engineering. following jaguar’s announcement in october 2017 to become the exclusive title partner of vector, the team will attempt further world and national records over the next 18 months as part of a major initiative to push the boundaries of performance and to showcase british engineering.
