The downward trend in the cost of cars with electric propulsion will continue.
This leads to the fact that electric cars will cost about the same as cars with internal combustion engines with the same equipment by 2025, Bloomberg reported.
The key to reduce the cost of electric vehicles is the cost of lithium-ion batteries. If now the price of batteries in an average of 208 dollars per 1 kWh, by 2030 it will fall to $ 70. That will definitely affect the prices of electric vehicles and, consequently, their popularity with the consumer.
“Sales of EVS will grow in the coming years, but for real change of the situation in the automobile market further reduced prices on batteries. If the cost of producing them will rise, then the expected changes will not happen,” warns transportation analyst at Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) Colin Mackerracher.
The Agency also reasonably believe that the sales of electric cars needs to be driven by government preferences or lower tax rates for owners of “green” cars, or direct financial inventions with their purchase.
