Having problems with your phone? The cold temperatures may be the culprit.
Brad Martin with Drop Doctor said he’s received a lot of calls about bad phone batteries since the extreme cold set in. He said that’s because your phone battery takes the hardest hit when temperatures drop below freezing.
“Let’s say you leave your phone in your car for too long, for a day, you’re battery is down to zero capacity at that point and it may never charge again, because lithium batteries will shut off at that certain point,” said Martin.
If you’re phone isn’t turning back on your may need to get it replaced.
“You get the phone out in the cold within a few minutes, actually, it can start to get really cold inside,” said Martin. Once your screen gets cold it can crack really easily. Once the battery gets cold it will drain quickly, so the best thing to do it get it back into warm temperature or keep it on your body at all times.”
Martin said switching from very cold to warm temperatures is the reason your screen could crack.
