The California Environmental Protection Agency has issued a solicitation for members of a new advisory group to help steer policies pertaining to the recovery and recycling of lithium-ion vehicle batteries sold with motor vehicles in the state.
Advisory Group members will not receive travel stipends or per diem for participation in committee.
The Advisory Group will comprise members of the environmental community, auto dismantlers, public and private representatives involved in the manufacturing, collection, processing and recycling of electric vehicle batteries, and other interested parties.
CalEPA will accept applications through 16 August 2019. CalEPA may elect to extend the application period based on factors including, but not limited to, the number and/or type of representatives that may have applied relative to what the Secretary for Environmental Protection deems necessary and appropriate based on statute. Advisory Group applicants will be evaluated and appointments announced by 6 September 2019.
